Joe & Loretta Bell: The Bell's are fantastic people that have been teaching at OCC for years.

Brent Bestwick: Brent is a great teacher that has taught different men's studies and specialty classes around OCC over the years. Brent is a good communicator that really has a desire to see people's lives change. 

Chad DeShon: Chad Deshon is a young guy, with a passion for teaching. Chad has been involved with Awana for years, and now he is wanting to teach adults.

Jeremy Eubanks: Jeremy Eubanks is our Youth Minister at OCC. Jeremy is a great communicator that never stops learning and leading.

Bob Harder: Bob Harder has been teaching for years, and his maturity and wisdom is evident in whatever classroom he teaches in. 

Ken Kersten: Ken is our lead pastor here at OCC, and we don't get to have him teach often, but when we do, you should definitly take advantage of his classes. 

John Lovitt: John Lovitt is an elder at OCC, and has spent many years teaching our Junior High on Sunday morning. He will continue that role, but also split time on staff at OCC University.

Ralph Maddox: Ralph Maddox is creative and passionate about God and the life of a Christian. We are excited to have Ralph on board teaching with us.

Cole McGee: Cole McGee is our Connections Minister at OCC. Cole loves to teach and is excited about the opportunity to communicate the Kingdom of God.

Joe Ogilvie: Joe Ogilvie has been teaching for many years. His studies of history, archeaology, and the Christian faith are what drive him to learn more and impart that knowledge to others. 

Fred Sheffield: Fred Sheffield is a licensed Professional Engineer, currently working and living in the Kansas City area. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering. He is a member of the independent non-denominational Christian Churches, which are affiliated with the Restoration Movement. (More Info)

Travis Strong: Travis is our worship minister, and has a huge passion for teaching. His desire is to help people see the power and beauty of God's word. Whether that is music or study, Travis is an engaging teacher that will make you see another side of God's word you didn't see before. 

Dan Wohlenhaus: Dan Wohlenhaus has been teaching at OCC for a long time now, but he still has a ton of passion to tell people about the love of Jesus. 

Ron Young: Ron Young is an elder at Olathe Christian Church, and he has been teaching Sunday School for years. Ron has a passion for relationships and to see people find Jesus Christ. 

Shon Yust: Shon is a leader. He has a heart for people, and he has a heart for justice. Shon owns mutliple companies and has a lot of experience in being a Christian in a tough business environment.

OCC University: Spring Term 2012

What is OCC University?

OCC University is the educational side of growth at OCC. Everyone member of Olathe Christian Church at some point gets involved in an OCC University class. Our teachers are members of the congregation that have spent years themselves studying, and are passionate about giving that knowlege to others. All classes are on Sunday. 

We encourage you to prayerfully consider which class you would like to study in. If you would like more information please feel free to contact Cole McGee to help advise you on the best class and teaching style for you.

Christianity in the Workplace

Teacher: Shon Yust

Time: First Service 9:00AM

Summary:This class is designed to explore all the different ways our faith and work life connect, and how scripture can and should impact our work.

 

Prayer and the Will of God

Teacher: Chad DeShon

Time: First Service 9:00AM

Summary: We all at times wonder what God's will for our lives is, but we often don't take time to study how to find what God wants? This class will help us discover what prayer really is and how it must integrate into every part of our faith.

 

Life of Paul 201

Teacher: Ron Young

Time: First Service 9:00AM

Summary: The Life of Paul 201 will be a continuation in the study of Paul's life, including his writings in chronological order. One of our goals is to understand to the best of our ability, to whom he wrote, and why. We also study what Paul wrote, his experiences, trials, hardships, joys, so that we can apply these lessons to our lives in order that we can be the follower of Christ that God wants us to be.

 

Introduction to the Old Testament

Teacher: Cole McGee

Time: Second Service 10:30AM

Summary: The Old Testament is often ignored because we are not sure what to do with it. Where do you start with such an old and power text? This class is designed to help you find your footing, and begin studying the Old Testament for all it's worth.

 

Living with Divorce

Teacher: Dan Wohlenhaus

Time: Second Service 10:30AM

Summary: For those who have been through a divorce at any time in life and are eager to discover or rediscover faith in God's grace without compromising His high standards for families and marriages.  God's Word will be our guide through the questions and issues that keep divorced people up at night: everything from being a good parent to facing the often relentless guilt from all of the "what ifs?"

 

Life of Paul 201

Teacher: Joe Ogilvie

Time: Second Service 10:30AM

Summary: The life of Paul is too big and important to only take one class! We are continuing our study of the life of Paul, and invite anyone and everyone to join. There is not a bad time to start studying Paul's life.
